I recently went to San Diego and ate fish tacos at four different places, and none of them were really that good. In fairness, they were mainly in tourist areas. Los Tortugas is better.charlestonguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400830768476464788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20107958.post-32746095642048439682007-06-15T10:52:00.000-05:002007-06-15T10:52:00.000-05:00I had the fish tacos at The Flying Fish and enjoye...I had the fish tacos at The Flying Fish and enjoyed them very much! They come three to an order. The pico was a little heavy on the onions, but the fish and cole slaw were delicious. This restaurant has a fun atmosphere and is downtown. I will definitely order them next time probably without the pico though.
Enjoy!
SallySally Whitehornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00685274098759145144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20107958.post-68085374489913260662007-06-14T22:58:00.000-05:002007-06-14T22:58:00.000-05:00Fish tacos are one of life's true joys. I'll briefly break the rules and mention some of the chain offerings out there:

Cozymel's has quite nice fish tacos, particularly because of the pickled onions that are placed on top. The ones at On the Border are horrid deep fried abominations slathered in a cream sauce.

Elsewhere, I've had great fish tacos at various Mom & Pop places around town. Not to sound un-PC, but my favorites have been those that aren't really licensed, everyone looks at me weird when I walk in, and I have to order in Spanish.

Cheers,
BenitoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16051720620514267587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20107958.post-39826876324840272152007-06-14T21:20:00.000-05:002007-06-14T21:20:00.000-05:00oh my god, i can't believe i didn't think to ask p...oh my god, i can't believe i didn't think to ask papa squirrel for the inside scoop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1Stacey Greenberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14716896540454461639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20107958.post-4183634750086287982007-06-14T18:09:00.000-05:002007-06-14T18:09:00.000-05:00Mama and I went to Taqueria Garibaldi on Knight Ar...Mama and I went to Taqueria Garibaldi on Knight Arnold near Ridgeway this week. It was fair, but nothing special. I'm sorry. I didn't notice if they had fish tacos or not. We're going back soon so we can do a quick review. I'll let you know then.

I highly recommend Mariscos de Mazatlan on Winchester near Ridgeway. We have had a very good fish burrito and excellent ceviche there. They definitely have fish tacos. The best item is the seafood soup. They bring it out at the beginning of the meal along with the chips and salsa. The soup is a tasty veggie with mussels and calamari.

If Warren wants good hole-in-the-wall Mexican, Taco Loco on Lamar near Semmes is the best in town. It would be best to get food to-go and bring it home. It's a small place, and the Monkeys would probably be a little bored.Papa Squirrelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15400554011667281657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20107958.post-56057186323791393752007-06-14T17:39:00.000-05:002007-06-14T17:39:00.000-05:00blue's coast and moe's does have fish tacos and no...blue's coast and moe's does have fish tacos and no, they aren't very good.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07450094471048109370noreply@blogger.com
